Contract review: Criteria for welding capability and associated activities of manufacturing organization onshore and off shore. Design review: Relevant welding standards, joint location with relation according to the design requirements, access for welding, inspection and testing, welding of joint details, quality and acceptance requirements for welds of Steel Structures, piping, pipe lines and atmospheric storage tanks. Review of materials: Parent materials and welding consumables. Subcontractor monitoring: Suitability and performance of any subcontractor. Fabrication/production planning: Suitability and validity of welding procedure specifications (WPS) and approvals (WPAR), work instructions. Validity of welder approvals, welding and assembly sequences for the structure, production weld test requirements, welding inspection requirements, environmental conditions, health and safety. Equipment checks: Suitability of welding and associated equipment, auxiliaries and equipment supply identification and handling. Supervision in welding operations: Preliminary activities: issue of work instruction, joint preparation, fit up and cleaning, preparation of production weld tests, appropriateness of the work area including the environment Welding: Assignment and instruction of welders, use or function equipment and accessories, welding consumables and auxiliaries, application of welding process parameters, application and method of preheating and post weld heat treatment, welding sequence, post weld heat treatment. Post Welding Activities: Training of all inspectors in accordance with project specifications. Coordination of fabrication/on site inspections together with construction supervisors. Reviewing of all necessary QC reports. Relations with Client, Consultant, Third party representatives. Provide testing in: Visual examination: Checking of weld dimensions, profiles, shapes, dimensions and tolerance of the welded components, joint appearance. Destructive and Non-Destructive testing: Application of destructive and non-destructive tests. Weld acceptance: Assessment of inspections and test results, tracking of weld repairs. Final acceptance of repaired welds. Documentation: Prepare regular reports on the overall work performance activities, monitor major results, monitoring of the necessary records in a regular
